The purchase of a property with the adjacent land in Bulgaria by EU citizen

The purchase of a property with the adjacent land in Bulgaria by EU citizen has become a simple and quick process after the moratorium banning land purchase by EU citizens has passed. The process now is almost same, having two exceptions for Bulgarian citizens:

 1 In some regions (Burgas) the EU citizen needs to obtain UIC under Bulstat after registration within 7-days of closing date.  This prerequisite is due to the fact, that the relevant person (buyer) does not possess PIN (personal ID number) according to the Bulgarian standards and requirements.

 2 The purchase of agricultural land in Bulgaria by European citizens was expected to be permitted as from 01.01.2014, but the National Assembly took a decision for the extension of the transitional period for the acquisition of agricultural land by EU citizens, therefore this issue is still unclear. According to representatives of the Notary Chamber deals with agricultural land involving foreign individuals are not impeded at present.
